A wonderful evening at U.S. Ambassador Cronin’s residence for the inaugural Eavan Boland Award for Emerging Poets, awarded to Emma Toibin and Lauren Greene by judges Paula Meehan and Jane Hirshfield.

The award is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy, Poetry Ireland, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Stanford University and Trinity College Dublin.

It was lovely to see Eavan’s daughters and members of her family there tonight.
